Taurus This image contains the highlights of the winter sky. The red giants Aldebaran (the eye of the bull at center) and Betelgeuse in Orion dominate the view and are obviously different than their neighboring blue stars, even in city skies. The scene above portrays the classic battle between Orion the Hunter and Taurus the Bull. The point stars of Taurus' horns pierce the clouds of the Milky Way, and the Pleides, the tight bright cluster known as the Seven Sisters, ride its back. |
