  | We can see the detail better by taking the log of the image. Here you can see the influence of diffraction lines (the small spikes on either side) and the flare induced by the optics (the broad skirt). In the image we can see two nearby stars within the flare.

  | If we zoom way down in intensity and show the bottom 1%, we see an intensity distribution like this. The plot also reveals some "holes" that were missed in the summation of exposures within the bright central region of the star.
